Bordeaux International Fair is an important showcase, a place to meet, to do business and demonstrate your products and services. It represents a marriage of business and culture. With 250,000 sqm of exhibition space, including 80,000 sqm covered and air conditioned, the exhibition centre is designed for major events. Situated in Bordeaux Lac business district, it welcomes almost 300,000 visitors in May.

Bordeaux, a modern city with a rich history

As an international city justly proud of its culture, Bordeaux has always known how to combine innovation and quality of life. Thanks to new pedestrian zones and a modern tram system, the city's architecture is now more attractive. In addition to being the world's foremost wine producing region, Bordeaux has developed a high-tech aerospace industry. As the capital of Aquitaine with its strong gastronomic tradition, Bordeaux is close to some outstanding coastland and countryside areas, ideal for sports amateurs. Aquitaine region have invested for the future, with 130 medical research laboratories, 70,000 students and 5,700 research scientists in the region's universities.

 

Exhibitions in Bordeaux : a long tradition...

CEB (Congrès et Expositions de Bordeaux) is a 1901 Association of recognised public benefit that regroups 350 members from the region's economy, the CEB is authorised to fulfil missions of public interest.

1296 : The first Free Fair of Bordeaux took place under English domination (following the edict by King Philippe Le Bel of France ). They continued regularly in Bordeaux until the 20th century, originally on Place du Palais and then Place de la Bourse.

1916 : Creation of modern fairs. The Paris , Lyon and Bordeaux fairs were created at the same time. This is also the year of the creation of CEB, a 1901 Association that was recognised to be of public benefit in 1922.

The fair took place on the Quinconces until 1968, the following year the fair moved to the banks of Bordeaux Lac.

In 2000, the CEB became administrator of Hangar 14 exhibition place and the Palais des Congrès, through its filial Bordeaux - Évènements - Congrès (BEC) after wining the tender for the management of these sites.
